It is important for readers to understand what is happening in their books, who the characters are and what the theme is. In your response, outline the following: Plot, Setting, Characters, and Universal Theme. Provide evidence to support your thinking from your book.
I`m in the beginning of Bad boy by Walter Dean Myers. The setting of my book have changed three times in the first chapter, and then it change to New York in the second chapter.I think the main setting is New York because there is where the main character lives, as seen in page 6.
So far in my book the plot appears to be that the character`s family doesn`t have a lot of money so they have to work really hard. I think the universal theme is how society acts and reacts.

I'm glad to see that you are thinking about and replying to what we are talking about in class. I like how you deduce that the main setting is going to be in New York because that is where the main character lives, although I can't help but wonder who the main character is. Also, why do you think that the universal theme is how society act/reacts?
Grade: 4 PP- You showed a limited understanding of the assignment and expectations as well as some awareness of your choices in your work. The assignment showed some imagination but the details and development need work.
